RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up has racked up so many awards (including multiple Allure Best of Beauty and Reader’s Choice wins), it’s pretty much the Meryl Streep of concealers. But for an award-winning concealer, it’s spectacularly not good at concealing — and that’s exactly the point. The beauty of this formula is its barely-there coverage. This stuff is not for the times you’re trying to mask a bright-red breakout, or for the mornings you wake up with such dark undereyes, you resign yourself to wearing sunglasses. But for the days you want your skin to look like skin, just more even-toned and luminous, there’s simply nothing better. The first time I prepared to apply it, I was struck by how malleable the formula was — as I tapped it on with my ring finger, it literally melted into my skin. I applied a single layer around my nostrils (which often get pink), but doubled up under my eyes. Even so, it didn’t totally cover the purple tones — and as someone who prefers light, fresh-feeling makeup, that was fine by me.A quick scan of the ingredient list made it clear to me why the formula is so blendable: It’s loaded with natural oils like coconut, jojoba, and castor seed — and not much else. The founder of RMS Beauty, Rose-Marie Swift, has a knack for creating formulas that satisfy even the most discerning natural-product users, and this one is no exception. It’s been years since I first discovered “Un” Cover Up, but I’ve continued to use it regularly as both concealer and foundation. (When I’m wearing it as the latter, I use a flat face brush to buff the formula across my cheeks and forehead.) In either case, the dewy finish and light coverage lasts for several hours. But finish it off with a bit of setting powder, and you’ll be covered — or rather, just covered enough — all day long. The RMS Beauty “Un” Cover-Up Concealer is a 2020 Allure Readers’ Choice Winner.
