Review: Shiseido D Program for sensitive skin

Japan is easily one of my favourite places to visit. And of course, like any beauty junkie, I’m always visiting the beauty stores and drugstores to see what interesting products I can bring home. While I’ve seen the Shiseido D Program skincare range on my many trips, I did not pick up any to try.

So now that the brand is in Singapore (sold exclusively at Watsons), I’m really excited that I get to test it out.

The Shiseido D Program focuses on sensitive skin. It has been the number one sensitive skincare brand in Japan for the last 10 years, and is so popular that one bottle of D Program Lotion is sold every 30 seconds in the country.

The different Lotions and Emulsions strengthen the skin’s barrier while the Allerdefense range of sunscreens and BB creams protects the skin. The result: Healthier, stronger skin better able to withstand external environmental damage, such as UV rays and pollutants.

And because sensitive skin can also suffer from acne, ageing or pigmentation, the brand has ranges to address them: Balance Care to restore balance, Acne Care for blemishes, Moist Care for dry skin, Vital Act for ageing woes, and Whitening Clear for redness and dark spots.

With that in mind, I decided to choose the Balance Care and Whitening Clear to target my current skin concerns – combination and dehydrated skin exacerbated by the heat and humidity we’ve been experiencing recently, along with a dull complexion and a light smattering of age spots.

Here’s how it went down:
