Kobe Bryant will appear on NBA 2K cover for ‘Mamba Forever’ 2K21

Through its NBA 2K Twitter account, the Visual Concepts Entertainment franchise released a video of the artist painting the covers. —NBA 2K21 (@NBA2K) July 2, 2020The NBA icon died in a tragic helicopter accident alongside his 13-year-old daughter — Gianna — and seven others back in January. Bryant was 41 years old. At the time, the entire sports world paused to mourn Bryant. The five-time NBA champion and 18-time All-Star was posthumously inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in April.

Bryant is one of multiple cover athletes for the latest NBA 2K release. The brand had already announced that Portland Trail Blazers sharpshooter Damian Lillard and New Orleans Pelicans up-and-coming superstar Zion Williamson will grace the current generation and next-gen covers, respectively.
