Acure Resurfacing Glycolic & Unicorn Root Cleanser — Editor Review

Chemical exfoliants are a must in my skin-care routine. While I typically turn to serums, masks, or moisturizers with exfoliating acids, I’m not gonna say no to a cleanser that has it all — especially not one in a rainbow-silver reflective tube.Don’t let the shiny packaging distract you, though. Acure’s Resurfacing Glycolic & Unicorn Root Cleanser is serious business. The name might have you thinking you’ll squeeze the tube and some glittery gunk will come out, but what you’ll actually get is a white cream with a milky opacity. It goes on as a cream at first, thickening as you rub it in. Then, with water, it turns into a foam that leaves your face feeling clean without that excessively tight feeling afterward, which I love for a foam product. So while you’re not getting any rainbow nor glitter particles from this product, you will get the benefits of true Unicorn root, a.k.a. Aletris farniosa, which can help build up collagen. You’re also not going to get that super tingly feeling that sometimes comes with other products containing AHAs. These acids are mild on your face, so you likely won’t be left with red spots and irritation after using this. This is a good cleanser for anyone who wants to delve into the world of chemical exfoliants but is timid about any burning or skin sensitivity. And for a cool $13, your wallet certainly won’t be mad at it.You can follow Allure on Instagram and Twitter, or subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date on all things beauty.
